MQHA Queen

The Michigan Quarter Horse Association is pleased to announce our 2014 MQHA Queen, Miss Minae Zomer. Minae, daughter of Greg and Renee’ Holstege, is 22 years old, and is from Holland, Michigan. Congratulations to Minae, who was crowned at the Harbor Classic show, July 5th. First Runner-up in the Queen’s competition was Miss Ashlynn Balmer.

Thank You to Miss Meghan Murphy, our 2013 MQHA Queen, for all her hard work and service to our association as Queen this past year. We wish Meghan the very best as she finishes out her reign as the 2013 All American Quarter Horse Congress Queen.

This year MQHA also crowned a Princess and a Junior Princess. The MQHA congratulates Princess Kylie Klotz and Junior Princess Erin Duquette.

We are looking for young ladies between the ages of 18-25 years old to represent the MQHA. Please return your application and signed code of conduct/dress code form by June 15, 2015.

Interested in becoming our Next MQHA Princess

The Princess Contest will be held Friday, July 3, at the Harbor Classic Horse show in Ludington. The Princess division for girls ages 9-13, and the Junior Princess is for girls 4-8 years old. The Princess contest includes a Horsemanship pattern using a stick horse. If you have a stick horse, it is recommended that you bring it, but there will be a stick horse available if you do not have one. This will be graded on the correctness and execution of the pattern. The candidates will also be interviewed by a panel of three judges. These questions will be age appropriate, and the girls will be graded on the answers to the questions, their ability to communicate their thoughts and their attire.
