Tell Me A Secret

Screen Print
2016

The print sums up my feelings up dealing with a very manipulative person who kept pushing and pulling me away from him. The words start with one of his favorite games to play with me. The rest of the words highlight how I felt during the exchanges including the highs and lows and the games played with me. The image of the woman cut open visually shows how I feel after these interactions. I treated her like a specimen in a display case because that’s how I felt I was treated, just an experiment for the person with no concern for my feelings. The use of silver and gold inks plays to the ugly/beautiful concept I started with All the Things I Should Have Said. The print looks pretty on the surface even though you see all the pain when you dive into the words and images.
